Primera Entrada

In your first blog entry please present yourself.  Include information about yourself that your readers might find interesting (nombre, enfoque de estudios, lo que te gusta o no te gusta, clases, pasatiempos, etc.) Your entry should be between 75-100 words and needs to be posted by Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 @ 11:59pm.

Entrada Dos

Write about what you did over Summer Break.  Give your entry an appropriate title.  Use the past tense (the main focus is on Preterite though if you need to use Imperfect, do so).  Your entry should be between 125-150 words.  If you would like to add one appropriate picture to this entry to make it more interesting please do so (not required on this entry).   Needs to be posted by Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 @ 11:59pm.

Peer Review Open several of your peers’ blogs (complete list found on instructor’s blog).  Choose two blogs and read them completely. Post comments on both entries (Primera entrada and Entrada dos) of the blogs you choose.  These comments are whatever you have to say or add to the blog entries.  They should be complete sentences in Spanish and appropriate.   Your four comments need to be posted by Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 @ 11:59pm.

Entrada Tres

En esta entrada tienes que escribir acerca del descanso de otoño (Fall Break). You may write about the whole break or one specific event. Be creative and write between 125-150 palabras. (Don’t forget to proofread your entry.)  Due Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 @ 11:59pm

Peer Review –Your instructor will assign you two entries to review.  You need to read each entry and try and find a few mistakes or errors.  You should post your suggestions and corrections under the blog entry. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 @11:59pm

After you have completed your review, read what your peers posted about your entry.  Go back and rewrite and edit Entrada Tres.  After you have made changes to your entry repost the entry.  This final version will be the one that is graded by your instructor. Complete by Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 @ 11:59pm.

NOTE: Do NOT erase the original entry you write. Make a new entry so that I may compare the two entries to each other. The idea here is that you continue to get better and learn from your mistakes.

Entrada Cuatro

(Please proof read your work before posting.) Thursday, Nov. 17 @ 11:59pm.

Peer Review Read several of your peers’ blog entries (complete list of blogs found on instructor’s blog).  Choose at least two blog entries that you like.  Post a comment (in Spanish) on both entries.  The comments are open to whatever you would like to say (as long as it is appropriate).  Post by Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 @ 11:59pm.

Editing and Proofreading

You need to make sure that you have made the corrections to your blog.  You should reread and rewrite your entries to reflect your ability to write in Spanish.  Use the feedback from your peers and instructor as you polish your entries.  This needs to be completed no later than 11:59pm on Sunday, Nov. 27.  After that time you will not receive credit for corrections made.
NOTE: Please do NOT erase any of your original entries. Make new entries so that I may see how your writing has improved.

Entrada Final

This is your final blog entry and therefore should reflect your Spanish skills at the end of first year Spanish.  In this entry you should write about and reflect on your experiences with first year Spanish (both 1010 & 1020 or just 1020).  You can write about what you have learned, have done, have not done, etc.  You can write about what you liked, didn’t like, would change, etc.  You can write about the people you have met, worked with, etc.  You can write about what you would change, do differently, etc.  You should also include your plans for furthering your Spanish studies; classes you will take, books you will read, places you will visit, etc.  Your reflection entry should be 200-250 words.  Make sure to proof read your entry and that it reflects your best work (accent marks, correct spelling, grammar, etc.).  Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at 11:59pm.
